IITR Recruitment 2025: The hiring process for the Junior Stenographer post at the Indian Institute of Toxicology Research (IITR) has officially begun. The institute’s official website, iitr.res.in, is where interested individuals may apply online for the four open positions. Candidates must be 10+2 (Class XII) graduates or have earned a comparable degree. As required by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) and the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), applicants must also pass a stenography proficiency exam in either Hindi or English.
Age Limit
The maximum age for applicants is 27 years as of the final date for submitting applications. Age relaxation will be granted according to the current government regulations.
Pay Scale
Candidates who are selected will earn an estimated monthly salary of Rs 50,200, which includes transport allowance and additional benefits applicable to Central Government employees in Class ‘Y’ cities.
Selection Process
The recruitment procedure comprises two phases: a Written Examination and a Stenography Proficiency Test.
The Written Examination will be held in either OMR or Computer-Based format, consisting of 200 objective multiple-choice questions at the 10+2 standard level, with a total duration of 2 hours. The questions will be available in both English and Hindi, except for the English Language section. Candidates who qualify for a scribe will be allotted an extra 40 minutes.
For the Stenography Proficiency Test, candidates must transcribe a 10-minute dictation at a speed of 80 words per minute in either English or Hindi. This stenography test is only qualifying, and only those who pass it will have their ranks determined based on their performance in the written exam. In the event of tie scores, the merit list will be resolved based on criteria such as fewer negative marks, older date of birth, earlier achievement of the necessary qualification, and alphabetical order of the candidates’ first names.
The official notification states: “All applicants are encouraged to ensure that they meet the essential qualifications and other requirements specified in the advertisement by the last date for receiving the online application. No interim inquiries regarding eligibility will be accepted. The listed essential qualifications/experiences represent the minimum, and selection is made through open competition. Hence, simply meeting the minimum education qualification/experience does not guarantee candidates a selection for the post.”
Application Fee
Candidates are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs 500 via the payment gateway provided in the application form. However, candidates from SC/ST/PwBD/Women/CSIR employees and Ex-servicemen are exempt from the fee. No other payment methods, like demand drafts or postal orders, will be permitted.
