UPSC ESE Prelims 2025: Known as the Indian Engineering Services (IES) test, the Engineering Services Examination (ESE) 2025 admission cards were made public by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on May 28. Key Guidelines for Exam Day

  • Candidates must arrive at the examination venue at least 30 minutes before the exam begins—9 AM for the morning session and 1:30 PM for the afternoon session.
  • Entry will not be permitted after the gates close.
  • It is essential for candidates to verify that the details, including their name, photo, and QR code on the e-Admit Card, are accurate. If there are any discrepancies, they should reach out to UPSC as soon as possible.
  • Bringing along bags, personal belongings, valuables, mobile devices, smart/digital watches, electronic gadgets, books, and similar items is strictly forbidden.
  • There will be no facilities available for storing prohibited items at the examination venue.
  • Candidates are responsible for making their own arrangements, as UPSC will not be liable for any loss.

  • A printed copy of the e-Admit Card
  • A black ballpoint pen (required for completing OMR sheets and attendance lists)
  • A pencil

Important Instructions

Candidates who have legally changed their name must present a government-issued photo ID that reflects the new name at every session of the ESE 2025 examination. Not providing this may lead to being denied entry.
