AFCAT Selection Process 2025: For Group A Gazetted Officer positions in the Flying and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches, the Indian Air Force (IAF) uses the AFCAT selection procedure. The AFSB interview and an online exam are the two primary steps in the selection process.
General Awareness, English Verbal Ability, Numerical Ability, Military Reasoning, and Aptitude are all included in the AFCAT online exam. A total of 300 points are awarded for the test.
AFSB (Air Force Selection Board) candidates who pass the online exam are invited to the interview, where their fitness is further evaluated.
This procedure guarantees that only the most qualified applicants are chosen to join the Indian Air Force as officers.
AFCAT Selection Process 2025
Candidates must successfully complete the three primary steps of the AFCAT selection process in 2025 in order to join the Indian Air Force’s branch of their choice. Candidates may apply for the positions of Ground Duty Non-Technical (Administration, Logistics), Flying Branch (Pilot), or Ground Duty Technical (Electrical, Mechanical).
Applicants are tested on their general awareness, English, numerical ability, military reasoning, and aptitude in the first step of the selection process, the online AFCAT exam. Officer-Like Qualities (OLQs), personality, and psychology are evaluated at the Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) interview, which is held for qualified candidates.
To make sure they fulfil the Indian Air Force’s health requirements, candidates who have been approved by the AFSB must next go through a medical examination. A candidate’s total performance is used to create a merit list. The Air Force Academy invites those on the list to start training.
The purpose of the AFCAT selection process is to find the top applicants who fit the Indian Air Force’s stringent medical requirements and exhibit exceptional aptitude, knowledge, and leadership abilities.
